Festive Wishes

I wish to send warm greetings to each person during these festive times. And not only for those few days regarded as the Christmas period, but also for each day of 2010.

Step by Step we walk towards our future. May we walk together with sincere hearts, thoughtful minds, and positive consciousness.

FESTIVE GREETINGS TO ALL

Where you are

"It does not matter where you are physically located. It is the state of your vibratory frequency, your state of consciousness that matters most"

Sheer Mystery

'The world is all that is encased here: life, death, people, and everything else that surrounds us. The world is incomprehensible. We won't ever understand it; we won't ever unravel its secrets. Thus we must treat the world as it is: a sheer mystery.'

Castaneda - 'The Wheel of Time'

The Future will be Human

‘The Future will be Human: Whoever uses machines does all his work like a machine. He who does his work like a machine grows a heart like a machine, and he who carries the heart of a machine in his breast loses his simplicity. It is not that I do not know of such things; I am ashamed to use them’.

Power

Power is prevalent in society. It thrives upon the material energies produced. Yet there are degrees of power, and power is just as comfortable within a spiritual domain as is humility. For true power is the power to empower others.

It doesn't dominate - it lifts. It doesn't protect its greed: it patiently awaits until the receiver is able to share it.

The master becomes the servant as power empowers those beneath to raise themselves, and thus continue the Work.

Critical Mass

The present recognition of our emergent collective consciousness represents a quantum transformation in human evolution...While much of human consciousness is still caught in a separative, alienated condition, significant numbers of individuals and groups are consciously working toward critical mass. When just the right quantity and quality of catalytic influence is reached, the entire process will be affected.

Taken from Conscious Evolution by Barry McWaters (Evolutionary Press, 1982).

The movement has been growing for some time. As McWaters said - 'Applications accepted - inquire within!'

Do You?

‘Nanotech, biotech, artificial intelligence, smart cards, embedded chips, smart dust, fragmentation of humans into consumer, patient, voter, worker roles for sorting by government and corporation: all of these together spell the end of the human in ways we can't entirely grasp, much less control. Are we human? Are we bionic free agents? Are we cogs in the machine?’

What do you want?

What do you love?

Do you love?

Welcome to the Machine

SOME FILL WITH EACH GOOD RAIN

There are different wells within your heart.
Some fill with each good rain.
Others are far too deep for that.

In one well You have just a few precious cups of water,

That "love" is literally something of yourself,
It can grow as slow as a diamond
If it is lost.

Your love
Should never be offered to the mouth of a
Stranger.

Only to someone
Who has the valor and daring
To cut pieces of their soul off with a knife

Then weave them into a blanket
To protect you.

There are different wells within us,
Some fill with each good rain,

Others are far too deep
For that.

It's in the Mind

A traveller from a large city was surprised to encounter the plague a few miles from the town. He asked the plague "where are you going" and the plague responded "I am going to the big city to kill 5000 people". At that the traveller continued on his way.

Upon his return the traveller once again met the plague as after it had left the town, and he said to the plague "I thought you said you were only going to kill 5000 people, I heard that 50,000 have died". The plague responded "I did only kill 5000 people, the other 45000 died out of fear".

Choosing One's Seat

Consciousness begets consciousness. Just as a fire causes the air molecules near to it to heat up, so does the energy of consciousness radiate out to affect the consciousness of others within a receiving range. This is why ancient spiritual traditions insisted on having the living presence of a guide; and for those who wished to learn it was required that they attend the presence of the guide. This was not merely for verbal and/or physical instruction but more so because the ensuing energies of consciousness could be intentionally directed to a receiving target, whether the target was conscious of it or not. Even today in all spheres of life, people are constantly 'picking' up each other's influence through an interaction of energies of consciousness, despite being unmindful of this process. The early guilds and apprenticeships worked upon the notion of learning the craft by observation, not fully knowing that this was exactly the path used for countless traditions of inner teachings, not solely because observation teaches (which it does) but also because more important transmissions of influence are operative under such conditions of close physical presence. Consciousness begets consciousness. When one enters a rose garden, should they sit next to a rose, or a thornbush? From where does the feeling of beauty come from? Choose one's seat with care.

To the truth of who we are

Everything we do, everything we are, rests on our personal power. If we have enough of it, one word uttered to us might be sufficient to change the course of our lives. But if we don't have enough personal power, the most magnificent piece of wisdom can be revealed to us and that revelation won't make a damn bit of difference.

Carlos Castaneda

Humankind is being led along an evolving course,
through this migration of intelligences,
and though we seem to be sleeping,
there is an inner wakefulness
that directs the dream,
and that will eventually startle us back
to the truth of who we are.
Rumi

-------

The Genie

A fisherman caught in his net a copper bottle with a lead cap. The bottle contained a powerful genie. The genie, once released, said to the fisherman:
- 'Ask for three wishes and I will give them to you. Which is your first wish?'
- 'I would like you to make me intelligent enough to make a perfect choice of the other two wishes', said the fisherman.
- 'Done', said the genie. 'Now, which are your other two wishes?'

The fisherman reflected for a moment and said:
- 'Thank you. I don't have wishes anymore.'

- Gracias. No tengo más deseos.

No Pill Required

A recent article in The Wall Street Journal was titled 'There's No Pill for This Kind of Depression'; in this article the author noted a rising pandemic of fear within the minds of ordinary people. Yet it was not only about the economy. It was something more:

the economy isn't the only reason for our unease. There's more to it. People sense something slipping away, a world receding, not only an economic one but a world of old structures, old ways and assumptions. People don't talk about this much because it's too big...

...So where does that leave us? The writer and philosopher Laurens van der Post, in his memoir of his friendship with Carl Jung, said, "We live not only our own lives but, whether we know it or not, also the life of our time." We are actors in a moment of history, taking part in it, moving it this way or that as we move forward or back. The moment we are living now is a strange one, a disquieting one, a time that seems full of endings.

Too bad there's no pill for that.

Perceptive comments for a mainstream media. Yes, we are living a time now that is full of endings... yet we don't need a pill: what is required is for new facilities of perception to emerge. We need a 'new mind for a new world'. The glasses we used to wear are out of focus; we need to return them to the case, and lock the lid. They won't serve us any more...

A Writer in Andalusia

The front door of the house looks anonymous - just a small door at the end of a small narrow street. Opening the front door you step into the cool patio area... where there is silence and plants and the hopeful spray of sunlight... the visitor is welcomed....

The first door you come to on the left is where the writer in Andalusia (WiA) has his habitation... should you enter in - to peer? to disturb? to wonder? Instead, the visitor glances around this secluded courtyard....

Across they see the only other habitation - a second house which stands empty and deserted. In the middle a small lemon tree waits to bud... waits to seed new lemons to hang from its branches... the visitor casts a glance again...

...the solitary chair looks deserted too... the sitter scared away perhaps? the WiA hitting a mental block that catalyzes disappearance? Look more...

The courtyard shows traces of a presence..... so the visitor peeks through the door of the little house... and sees the stairs leading up.....

...yet feeling uninvited the visitor leaves the prying and returns outside... and wanders down some strange steps that lead away from the courtyard and into a cave tunnel... where could they possibly go...?

...Follow the sunlight and the tunnel emerges out into.... an inviting terrace.... a hidden gem away from all expectations....

Looking around the visitor sees it is a perfect place for seclusion.... a writer's retreat high up on the cliffside.... hugging the cliff wall and looking out onto the Andalusian landscape...

...from every angle the distance melts away and makes the visitor wonder what the hills know... what Nature knows... and the mind begins to wander too...

...The rocks fall far below... there is no way forward.. only retreat... is this the place where one should hide out? Can the rocks keep secrets?....

And somewhere.... amidst the ominous silence, thoughts are wrangled day and night... and energies are never left to disperse like orphans... as each bit of tender energy is directed towards its destination... there is Work to be done....

Arrival in Andalusia

Monday 23rd February 20.30 - I walked out of the 'Arrivals' hall of Jerez airport and into a starry Andalusian evening. I was carrying 2 bags. One baggage of 15kg that contained my few clothes; and a 10kg hand-luggage that contained this laptop I now write upon, and a few books. Inside my jacket pocket was a Western Digital 250GB portable hard-drive.

By 21.30 I had arrived at my destination. A hilltop 'Blanco Pueblo' (white town) that dot the Andalusian landscape from Cadiz to Costa la Luz. It was a warmish barmy evening - good for February...

I put my bags down and walked through a cave passage onto the private terrace. Ahead of me was an expanse of landscape; above me the stars sprinkled a clear night sky; below me was a direct 400 metre drop to the dirt and river below. I am literally situated on the edge of a cliff, at the end of a hilltop town...it is tranquil... yet when the wind blows, it howls like a banshee!

Tonight the Levant wind blows... or rather it shrieks around the cliff walls outside... it is now 20.45 and I'm thinking of cooking a little tomato, onion, and garlic. The vegetables here are home grown and the tomatoes are as big as oranges... and the oranges are as big as melons... outside in the courtyard stands a sole lemon tree - soon it will spring into small white flowers; later it will sprout lemons the size of melon-sized oranges...

The new Glenn Campbell album is playing through my laptop speakers...

El futuro es abierto...

Yesterday I wi-fied the house; so I can keep my 'electronic eyes' roaming on the Net-world... as I drink a chilled glass of sherry... This year is the quickening ... changes erupting all around us ... I'm now listening to Andrew Bird's Noble Beast and the wind is howling like a true beast too...yet the Levant is a warm wind... phew!

Everything is possible - I don't know what the future will bring; where I will be, or what I will do once my money runs out... In the meantime, I guess you sometimes need to create movement in order to attract a change in our Universal energies... so they notice you :-)

In all and everything, we should live within each moment and enjoy the adventure. And bless each one of us for being here. We are all a part of something great and wonderful - if only we have to keep reminding ourselves.... I'll remind you if you'll remind me...

Namaste

Some thoughts

Here is an extract from the latest 'Wings' posting from Karen Bishop:

The more we evolve, the more things purify and become simpler. Thus, it is very common for us to have only a very few friends or connections as we evolve to the higher states of being. Higher energy creates connections that are more direct and simple, with a simpler purpose. The higher we evolve, the more our shared purpose is simply about love and respect, or perhaps companionship. In the lower dimensions, we may overlap with another because we share a love of bowling, or with another because we share an interest in dogs, or even with another because we may each have a passion for community building.

As we evolve higher and higher, we shed off any lower vibrating energies, and thus, simplicity is the result. Thus, we have fewer and fewer friends and associations until there are enough of us at a certain level of vibrational reality. And the higher we vibrate, the more we dis-connect from relationships that involved support for one another, as we find that not only do we not need supportive energy ourselves, but we no longer wish to give support either, as this state of interaction does not exist in the higher realms. So then, relationships for this purpose may cease to exist as well...

...What are some of the things that may be holding us back from experiencing this energy? Holding onto anger because of the past is one. We were “held hostage” in the lower vibrations for so long because we needed to be around some lower energies in order to bring them up a notch or two. We may have felt misled or used and abused during this time. In order to move ahead, we really need to let go of any resentment. We may also have resentment and anger from any of these situations from our long ago past as well. We are free now and in order to experience this new freedom, it can really help to be free in our thoughts as well.

Too many responsibilities is another scenario that can hold us back. Letting go of as many things as possible in our lives, and making our lives as simple as possible can really help.

Getting out of the system in as many ways possible as another assist. The old system is rapidly falling now, and in addition it really has some entrapment energy as well.

A Snowy Leicester

Snowy indeed... 10cm in one morning... I slipped through the gate in my village, snow in hair, freezing collaterals...

Into the churchyard next to our family house... my G-D it was peaceful: was I the only alive member here...?

I guess I was - nothing/no-one else rocked, jitterbugged, nor popped up... I had the snowy earth to my lonesome wholesome...

So I crept between and betwixt the gravestones like a Dickinsian character... I saw a dove doing a fly-past and a blizzard-tongue licked my inner-ear.... warm soup would be nice; or a warm embrace...

Necessity

New organs of perception come into being as a result of necessity.

Therefore, O man, increase your necessity, so that you may
increase your perception.

The Bridge

We can learn to make ourselves available to the Spirit - by being aware of it.

In our everyday 'mundane' lives, we often forget to polish the connection - the bridge - between our self and our Spirit. It is increasingly imperative that this 'link' be cleaned and prepared for us: that's how the light gets in...

The bridge remains, linking both embankments. Yet it is seldom crossed.

In everything we do, it is either for the maintenance of this bridge; or it is for forgetfulness.
