Reflections

"'The evolutionary mechanism, carrying us toward this unknown destination, with full awareness of the target to be achieved and full knowledge of all the infinitely complex biological changes necessary to attain this end, must be, as we can readily imagine, guided by a Superintelligence, beyond anything that we can conceive in human terms...it is the only channel open to mankind to know step by step the modes of behaviour and the ways of thought necessary in order to live in consonance with the still hidden evolutionary laws...At the present moment, we are passing through one of those crucial periods in human history when collective breach of the evolutionary canons has attained to such a proportion that catastrophes appear imminent unless the transgression ceases before the saturation point." - Gopi Krishna

Festive Wishes

I wish to send warm greetings to each person during these festive times. And not only for those few days regarded as the Christmas period, but also for each day of 2010.

Step by Step we walk towards our future. May we walk together with sincere hearts, thoughtful minds, and positive consciousness.

FESTIVE GREETINGS TO ALL

Where you are

"It does not matter where you are physically located. It is the state of your vibratory frequency, your state of consciousness that matters most"

Sheer Mystery

'The world is all that is encased here: life, death, people, and everything else that surrounds us. The world is incomprehensible. We won't ever understand it; we won't ever unravel its secrets. Thus we must treat the world as it is: a sheer mystery.'

Castaneda - 'The Wheel of Time'

The Future will be Human

‘The Future will be Human: Whoever uses machines does all his work like a machine. He who does his work like a machine grows a heart like a machine, and he who carries the heart of a machine in his breast loses his simplicity. It is not that I do not know of such things; I am ashamed to use them’.

Power

Power is prevalent in society. It thrives upon the material energies produced. Yet there are degrees of power, and power is just as comfortable within a spiritual domain as is humility. For true power is the power to empower others.

It doesn't dominate - it lifts. It doesn't protect its greed: it patiently awaits until the receiver is able to share it.

The master becomes the servant as power empowers those beneath to raise themselves, and thus continue the Work.

Critical Mass

The present recognition of our emergent collective consciousness represents a quantum transformation in human evolution...While much of human consciousness is still caught in a separative, alienated condition, significant numbers of individuals and groups are consciously working toward critical mass. When just the right quantity and quality of catalytic influence is reached, the entire process will be affected.

Taken from Conscious Evolution by Barry McWaters (Evolutionary Press, 1982).

The movement has been growing for some time. As McWaters said - 'Applications accepted - inquire within!'

Do You?

‘Nanotech, biotech, artificial intelligence, smart cards, embedded chips, smart dust, fragmentation of humans into consumer, patient, voter, worker roles for sorting by government and corporation: all of these together spell the end of the human in ways we can't entirely grasp, much less control. Are we human? Are we bionic free agents? Are we cogs in the machine?’

What do you want?

What do you love?

Do you love?

Welcome to the Machine

SOME FILL WITH EACH GOOD RAIN

There are different wells within your heart.
Some fill with each good rain.
Others are far too deep for that.

In one well You have just a few precious cups of water,

That "love" is literally something of yourself,
It can grow as slow as a diamond
If it is lost.

Your love
Should never be offered to the mouth of a
Stranger.

Only to someone
Who has the valor and daring
To cut pieces of their soul off with a knife

Then weave them into a blanket
To protect you.

There are different wells within us,
Some fill with each good rain,

Others are far too deep
For that.

It's in the Mind

A traveller from a large city was surprised to encounter the plague a few miles from the town. He asked the plague "where are you going" and the plague responded "I am going to the big city to kill 5000 people". At that the traveller continued on his way.

Upon his return the traveller once again met the plague as after it had left the town, and he said to the plague "I thought you said you were only going to kill 5000 people, I heard that 50,000 have died". The plague responded "I did only kill 5000 people, the other 45000 died out of fear".

Choosing One's Seat

Consciousness begets consciousness. Just as a fire causes the air molecules near to it to heat up, so does the energy of consciousness radiate out to affect the consciousness of others within a receiving range. This is why ancient spiritual traditions insisted on having the living presence of a guide; and for those who wished to learn it was required that they attend the presence of the guide. This was not merely for verbal and/or physical instruction but more so because the ensuing energies of consciousness could be intentionally directed to a receiving target, whether the target was conscious of it or not. Even today in all spheres of life, people are constantly 'picking' up each other's influence through an interaction of energies of consciousness, despite being unmindful of this process. The early guilds and apprenticeships worked upon the notion of learning the craft by observation, not fully knowing that this was exactly the path used for countless traditions of inner teachings, not solely because observation teaches (which it does) but also because more important transmissions of influence are operative under such conditions of close physical presence. Consciousness begets consciousness. When one enters a rose garden, should they sit next to a rose, or a thornbush? From where does the feeling of beauty come from? Choose one's seat with care.

To the truth of who we are

Everything we do, everything we are, rests on our personal power. If we have enough of it, one word uttered to us might be sufficient to change the course of our lives. But if we don't have enough personal power, the most magnificent piece of wisdom can be revealed to us and that revelation won't make a damn bit of difference.

Carlos Castaneda

Humankind is being led along an evolving course,
through this migration of intelligences,
and though we seem to be sleeping,
there is an inner wakefulness
that directs the dream,
and that will eventually startle us back
to the truth of who we are.
Rumi

-------

The Genie

A fisherman caught in his net a copper bottle with a lead cap. The bottle contained a powerful genie. The genie, once released, said to the fisherman:
- 'Ask for three wishes and I will give them to you. Which is your first wish?'
- 'I would like you to make me intelligent enough to make a perfect choice of the other two wishes', said the fisherman.
- 'Done', said the genie. 'Now, which are your other two wishes?'

The fisherman reflected for a moment and said:
- 'Thank you. I don't have wishes anymore.'

- Gracias. No tengo más deseos.

No Pill Required

A recent article in The Wall Street Journal was titled 'There's No Pill for This Kind of Depression'; in this article the author noted a rising pandemic of fear within the minds of ordinary people. Yet it was not only about the economy. It was something more:

the economy isn't the only reason for our unease. There's more to it. People sense something slipping away, a world receding, not only an economic one but a world of old structures, old ways and assumptions. People don't talk about this much because it's too big...

...So where does that leave us? The writer and philosopher Laurens van der Post, in his memoir of his friendship with Carl Jung, said, "We live not only our own lives but, whether we know it or not, also the life of our time." We are actors in a moment of history, taking part in it, moving it this way or that as we move forward or back. The moment we are living now is a strange one, a disquieting one, a time that seems full of endings.

Too bad there's no pill for that.

Perceptive comments for a mainstream media. Yes, we are living a time now that is full of endings... yet we don't need a pill: what is required is for new facilities of perception to emerge. We need a 'new mind for a new world'. The glasses we used to wear are out of focus; we need to return them to the case, and lock the lid. They won't serve us any more...
